En algunos años el mes de Agosto regala días para velas más pequeñas que 4m², otros no. Pero podemos asegurar que unas vacaciones en este mes traerá al menos dos tercios, o incluso siete octavos, de viento para planear. En 2008 incluso fue uno entero, es decir, ¡¡cien por cien viento fuerte!! Sin embargo ese caso no se puede tomar como referencia. Esa vez los fanáticos simplemente tuvieron mucha suerte. Eso sí, en Agosto no tenemos que dar vales de crédito por días sin viento. Además, el agua calentita y el sol resplandeciente - hay un paquete de buenas condiciones en el almacén...
No obstante es imprescindible hacer una reserva si tienen pensado alquilar una tabla cuando vengan en esta época del año. Debido a las vacaciones en todos los países europeos hay que organizar el alojamiento y el posible coche de alquiler con bastante antelación. Si no lo hacen es probable que se lleven algún que otro disgusto :-(

In some years August does offer days for sails smaller than 4m², others it doesn't. But we can assure that a holiday in this month will bring at least two thirds or even seven eighths of planing wind. In 2008 it was even one over one (does that even exist?). One hundred percent strong wind!! Although that shouldn't be taken as a reference. That one time all freaks were especially happy with their luck. But we definately don't have to give credit vouchers for windless days in August. Plus the warm water and beautiful sunshine - there are pretty nice conditions in stock for this time of the year...
However it is a MUST to make a reservation if you would like to rent a board at our centre during a certain period in this month. Due to the holidays in all European countries it is important to organise accommodation and possible rental cars in time. Otherwise you might have to bite the bullet :-(

Manche Jahre bringen sie, die Tage für Segel kleiner als 4 m², andere nicht. Sicher ist aber in El Médano, dass ein Urlaub im August mindestens zu zwei Dritteln oder sogar zu sieben Achteln im Gleiten läuft. 2008 war das sogar zu einem Eintel (gibt es so was?) der Fall. Einhundert Prozent Starkwind!! Das darf man allerdings nicht als Maßstab nehmen. Dieses eine Mal waren halt alle Freaks besonders glücklich dran. Gutschriften für windlose Tage brauchen wir aber im August nie zu schreiben. Dazu das warme Wasser und täglich der strahlende Sonnenschein - die Götter haben schon tolle Sachen auf Lager...
Allerdings ist eine Reservierung unbedingt notwendig, wenn man in dieser Zeit bei uns ein Brett buchen möchte. Wegen der Ferien in ganz Europa muss man sich auch recht früh schon um Quartier bemühen und einen eventuellen Wunsch für einen Mietwagen rechtzeitig mitteilen. Sonst schaut man in die Röhre :-(
